Dark secret

In The Sims FreePlay, one's Sim's residence is an important part of the game. There, they can eat, sleep, play, learn, garden, etc. Some hobbies can even be practiced in their Sim's residence. Their Sims can move in together, start families, and visit one another when they are not busy.

One will begin the game with a single Sim in a pre-built house, but once they get started they will be able to clear vacant lots and custom-build brand new homes for their Sims or they can purchase pre-designed "theme" houses (often fully-furnished!) using Simoleons, Lifestyle Points or Social Points. Each cleared lot or newly built house will increase the property value of one's town.

Keep in mind that, like businesses and workplaces, the cost to build homes increases as one's number of residences, Sims, and game level increases.

Types[]

Housetypes

A list of the houses.

There are two types of housing to consider when one is ready to start building their Sim's dream home: the Standard Residence or the Ocean View Residence.

The home that one begins the game with is located on one of the 'standard' lots, which are smaller and much cheaper to build on than the 'ocean view' lots. However, 'ocean view' lots are significantly larger than the 'standard' lots (twice as big) and they have much more room to build and they are beach-front property, which means building on them increases their town's value much more than if they build on a smaller lot. All of the standard lots are one story, while ocean view ones can be three stories. To unlock and purchase ocean view lots, one must first complete the 'Ocean View Estate' quest.

Complete the Multi story Renovations quest to add more than one story to a house on a standard lot.

  • The 'Ocean View' residential lots did not always exist.
  • If one build a house with items they have not unlocked, they will have them in the house but they cannot buy anymore of that item from the store.
